We’re Emptying the Shelter!

With the help of the Bissell Pet Foundation, we’re working to empty the shelter on Saturday, October 14!

You may recall our last Empty the Shelters event at the end of April. With your help, we were so successful that at the end of the day of the event, the shelter had adopted out every single dog, cat, kitten and puppy that was eligible. We’re hoping to do that again next week.

Bissell Pet Foundation has stepped up again and will be donating all adoption fees for adoptions processed on Saturday the 14th. Dog adopters from Dearborn will only need to pay the City of Dearborn License Fee, which is $8, and adopters from other cities can purchase their licenses from their respective cities. Everything else is taken care of by the foundation.
If you’ve been wondering whether it’s a good time to adopt, this is your chance. We’ll have adoption counselors on hand to process your applications and answer all your questions—and to help you find your perfect forever friend. We recommend that you arrive at the shelter as early as you can before the event starts at noon, and that you take some time to check out www.metrodetroitanimals.org/adopt before heading over to the shelter. Here are some more details from Bissell Pet Foundation about the event.

Let’s team up and #EmptyTheShelters together!
