Pet Behavior Helpline

If you are having behavior issues with your family pet, either dog or cat, we may be able to assist you.  Let us offer some guidance on behavior challenges such as:

Having difficulty with potty training a pup?
Is your cat suddenly refusing to use the litter box?

This helpline is free and open to dog and cat pet owners from across metro Detroit.

NOTE: If you are a recent adopter from our Shelter and are having issues with your new pet family member, please do not use this line; continue your communications with our Shelter staff who helped with your adoption by calling 313-943-2697.

Why are we introducing this Helpline?

‘Behavioral issues”‘ is one of the leading reasons why owners surrender their pets. This program is an important outreach resource to help keep pets “homed” and prevent the number of unwanted animals in our community.

Staff training for offering help with cat-related behavior issues was made possible by the Humane Society of the United States. This program is supervised by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer Linda Thomas.

Your questions are important to us! We will contact you within 48 business hours of your inquiry.
