Guster (Gus) the 4 year old German Shepherd is looking for a new home, a very difficult decision made by his family due to lack of meeting his needs and jealously of toddler in the home. He is a large (100 pounds) neutered male who would do best with someone able to dedicate time to training & being active with him. He is a very high energy dog and requires an active outlet. He is highly toy motivated for training and play. He loves fetch and frisbee!

He completed a 4 week board and train program to work on obedience, anxiety, and impulsiveness. He is E-Collar conditioned and knows all basic commands and then some (heel, place, sit, down, stay, off, & more). He does well on and off leash after initially being vocal from excitment.

He is super affectionate and cuddly. He wants to please his owner but requires attention and a lot of activity from owners.

He currently struggles with car rides— extreme anxiety, barking and biting at car interior. (recommendation from trainer is crating him in the car to help subdue this anxiety).
He is very vocal and pushy when he is not getting enough attention or being fulfilled.

Guster needs an experienced handler who will be consistent, clear and firm- but also loving and fair.
He would do best in a home with no dogs and no young children.
