Welcome to PAWFEST

Join us for Pawfest, where pets, people, and good vibes come together for one unforgettable day, all while supporting the more than 2,500 animals cared for each year by Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit. 

Enjoy a full day of live music, food and drinks, and more than 100 vendors, including Sundays at the Market, offering something for everyone to enjoy. Families can spend the day exploring the festival, kids can enjoy activities in the Kids Zone, and animal lovers can meet adoptable pets throughout the day from our shelter and foster network.

Rainbow Way

Honor a beloved pet or celebrate a special memory with a Rainbow Way sign. These tribute signs will be displayed at the event as a meaningful way to recognize the animals who have made an impact in your life.

Purchasing a Rainbow Way sign is your ticket into the event. Rainbow Way sign orders will be taken through May 29th.

Cornhole Tournament

Join the Cornhole Tournament and compete for fun and bragging rights. Sign up to play, bring your game face, and enjoy some friendly competition at PAWFEST.

We are looking for motivated people ready to make an impact by selling Pawfest Raffle Tickets.

Just stop by the adoption center, located at 16121 Reckinger Rd. in Dearborn, Wednesday – Sunday, noon – 4 p.m. to pick up some tickets to sell, or reach out to our Events Manager Nova Zorok at 313-943-2697 ex 1019 or Signup Now!

The more tickets you sell, the more raffle entries you earn, along with extra perks along the way.

  • Sell 25 tickets = exclusive tee, 1 entry for signing up, 1 for selling 25 tickets
  • Sell 50 tickets = tee and tote, 3 entries into raffle
  • Sell 100 tickets = tee, tote, and long-sleeved t-shirt, 5 entries into raffle

The Pawbassador who sells the most tickets overall gets:

Dogs and their humans are invited to compete in agility, games and contests all day in the Dearborn Dog Park with finals at 6 p.m.!

Einstein Dock Diving and Odin’s Mobile Dock for UDD

Cheer on athletic pups in the Wag Zone as they launch into a massive pool, showcasing their skills in this thrilling distancejumping competition. Entry to each heat of competition is $23 pre-registration. Onsite registration is $25. This is a qualifying event for UDD Year End Finals.

This event is a benefit for Odin’s Heart Foundation!

Musical Sit/Stay

“Musical Sit/Stay” is a popular, interactive dog training game where dogs practice obedience (sitting and staying) while music plays, designed to improve focus around distractions. It acts like musical chairs, where owners command their dogs to stay while walking away, improving reliability under pressure.

How many and how fast can your dog retrieve tennis balls? Pay to play and help us fundraise for our shelter in the style of a 50/50 raffle!

Treibbal

Treibball (pronounced “try-ball”) is a competitive dog sport originating in Germany where dogs use their nose or shoulders to push oversized, inflatable exercise balls into a goal. Often called “urban herding,” it provides mental stimulation, physical exercise, and strengthens communication between dogs and their owners

The Bands

12:30 p.m. Sunglasses After Dark

Detroit-area party band Sunglasses After Dark, featuring Curt Vanden Bosch, Darryl Bartlett, Chris Colovas, and Nick Lazorishchak!

1:30 p.m. HotRod D-Luxx

HotRod D-Luxx is a party band from Southeast Michigan. They play classic rock, blues and rockin’ country. Band members are seasoned musicians, each having decades of experience.

2:30 p.m. Martinez

Martinez is a Detroit-area vocalist and multi-instrumentalist delivering high-energy live performances built around Top 40 favorites, dance hits, classic rock, Motown grooves, and select original material.

3:30 p.m. The Rockin’ Boomers

A six-piece band, initially comprised of former Detroit-area Christian band “Close Enough,” musicians Adam Tilley, Paul “Chip” Mohr, Gary Cash II and JP Duncan, founded and formed the “Rocking Boomers” classic rock jam band in 2023. The band was later joined by Rudy Michele and vocalists Jen Taylor and Love Moorer. They are unified in their dedication to charitable events and delivering the best musical experience for their audiences.

4:30 p.m. Warp Factor 5

“Space the final frontier.” Warp Factor 5 plays ’80s music and dresses up in Star Trek uniforms. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise, our mission to rock out to new life forms and new civilizations. To boldly jam where no one has jammed before. The crew: Captain Anne Gueta on Vocals, LT Gary Cash on guitar, LT Commander Rudy Michele on guitar, Ensign Ernie Blackburn on bass, Admiral Chip Mohr on Drums

5:30 p.m. Dabapalooza

The Dabapalooza Band was formed in 2013, with core members Chip Kipps (guitar), John Burhop (bass), and Daba Parker on vocals, as a Rod Stewart tribute band. They soon started adding other music and members, with Tom Mayer on drums, and Dearborn High classmates of Parkers’ class of 1975, Harv Irla on guitar, and Paul Schmitt on keyboards. They play an old school brand of rock.

6:30 p.m. ConnQuest

Four-piece, female-fronted “Heart” heavy rock band. Influences are Heart, Pat Benatar, Rush, Boston, and good old fashioned Rock and Roll that makes people want to move!

7:30 p.m. Steve Acho

Steve Acho is a Detroit-based singer-songwriter-pianist. He honed his stage skills performing standup comedy starting at the age of eight, and continued through high school. A self-taught singer and piano player, Steve learned to play songs he loved, and eventually songs he wrote, purely by ear. Steve has been featured performing the national anthem several times before Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings games. He has shared the stage with Eddie Money, Mitch Ryder, 2014 Top 2 American Idol Finalist Jena Irene, and many others.
